Last Day of School

Lizzie had a fabulous year in preschool. I was going to keep her home with me for one more year but she was SO ready to start school. Luckily we were able to secure a spot for her 2 days a week in the 3-yr old class. She loved Monday's and Wednesday's and was always eager to spend her days with Ceci and Jenny. Highlights include making her first really good friend, doing projects (art) and feeding Sammy the Lion during circle time. She also had lots of fun playing in the park, digging in the sand box and rolling down the hills with friends. Way to go Lizzie, we are so proud of you!

Cate was in T-K this year and had a wonderful experience with Mrs. Levinson and Ms. Kelly. She was always happy to go to school and was the first one ready in the morning. Together we met some really wonderful families and made friendships that will last for a long time. Highlights from this year include learning to read, writing stories and creating elaborate art projects with friends (it's amazing what you can make out of printer paper and staples). She also loved playing on the computers during choice time and playing with her friends at recess. The T-K class had PE once a week and Cate loved participating. She also enjoyed her music and movement class and her class performance of Canon in D with the hand bells was definitely memorable. Cate is not one who loves to be the center of attention or sing in front of a crowd, but she really enjoyed her music this year. Congratulations on a great year sweetheart, can't wait to see you soar in Kindergarten!

These three cuties had so much fun together. Their Wednesday playdates were always a highlight!
Jane started 1st grade at a new school. We remained in the same district but switched her to a new school after our move last June. Jane is quick to make friends wherever she goes, so I had confidence she would adjust very quickly. She was blessed with a fabulous teacher, Mrs. Zink, who really challenged and encouraged her throughout the year. Highlights for Jane include SIPPS (Phonics) + double or nothing with Mrs. Zink, Field Trips to SF Zoo + Dixie School House, endless monkey bars at recess, participating in the Community Heroes club, Dance Brigade class with Mr. Tom, as well as art, PE and music. At her end of the year music performance, she was one of two kids chosen to lead the 1st Grade in, "This Land is Your Land." Later in the program, she was shaking her hips and grooving to, "Cupid Shuffle." Several people commented on what a great dancer she was and I must say, the girl does love to dance! Congratulations on another great year Jane, we love you!
