Snow Day

Last weekend we drove up to Angels Camp to help my mom move some furniture. We spent most of Saturday rearranging furniture and helping her get settled. The next day we went to church and then headed for the snow in Bear Valley. We have had a lot of rain this year, so we also have A LOT of snow. The girls were so excited to go to the snow and could hardly contain their excitement on the drive up.

After we arrived, we bundled everyone up in the car (which took a long time). We then unbundled everyone for a bathroom stop and then re-bundled everyone before heading out to the snow. The snow was so deep, you could barely move. Jane and Cate were having fun climbing around but they also tired pretty easily. Lizzie was pretty uncertain about the whole thing but did manage to crack a few smiles that afternoon. The girls made a few sledding runs down the big hill, but we most spent our time off to the side and on much smaller/shorter slopes.

Lizzie was pretty jazzed to go sledding with Trever until she did a face plant at the end of their run. After that experience she mostly had this look on her face. I love her stone cold glance.

After a while, we convinced her to go on a smaller run. She seemed to enjoy it and even cracked a smile once or twice.

Cate and I had fun tackling the smaller hills. She braved the big hill at the end of the afternoon and was pretty pleased with herself.

Jane probably had the best time in the snow. She is the oldest, so naturally everything was a bit easier and more enjoyable.

I am glad we made the trip, it was fun to play in the snow and spend time with my mom. I can imagine these trips will be even more enjoyable as the girls get a bit older. Maybe we will even try skiing in the next few years.
