Christmas Eve
We had a short but sweet nativity reenactment this year. We dug up whatever we could find for costumes. Some people were more excited about their costumes than others, but you get the idea. Buddie was our lone sheep and he didn't even have to put on a costume. I love this tradition of focusing in Christ's birth on Christmas Eve. The kids enjoyed it as well and are still happy to be on stage.

After we acted out the nativity and had a brief discussing about Christ's birth, the girls exchanged gifts. We thought it would be nice for them to exchange gifts on the 24th, so they could really focus on what was being given. Jane gave her sisters key chains for their backpacks, Cate gave Jane a friendship bracelet set (big hit) and Lizzie a baby (also a hit), and Lizzie gave both girls over sized coloring books. They were all very excited to receive gifts and seemed genuinely excited to give them as well.
