Thanksgiving
We had quite the feast this year and were able to enjoy a few days with most of the Burgon clan. We missed you Eric, Brooke and Jon Bradley. We had PLENTY of food and were able to enjoy it for several days. We had homemade Brubaker pies, a juicy turkey, sourdough stuffing, Will's mashed potatoes with a secret ingredient, Andrea's rolls and much, much more. Trever has in charge of carving the turkey and he took his job seriously. After doing a little research online, he put together this platter.
On Thanksgiving Eve, Andrea, Lisa and Grandma Sharp put together these favors/name cards. I thought it would be fun to personalize our turkeys and write what we were thankful for on each of the feathers. This fabulous idea is used by our friends the Mulcocks and I think it's a great tradition. Check out the creative skills of the Burgon clan.

Julia wins the award for most creative. She put together a turkey with a bun in the oven. Baby Brubaker will be joining our clan in the spring and we can't wait to meet him.

This turkey very much reminds me of Lisa and is adorable. LOVE the hat!

I had a turkey, wrote on the feathers but didn't have time to put together anything creative. Next year, next year.
On Friday we made our way into Chicago to see the sights. We stopped at the Rookery Building to check out some Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture and then made our way to the German Market. We didn't last long at the market, crowded place + two strollers = bad idea. After making our way out of the market, we headed to the famous Magnolia Bakery, which is now in downtown Chicago. After enjoying some delicious treats, we headed to the Millennium for some Christmas caroling. Before leaving the city, we ate at a new burger place, Grange Hall Burger, which I would highly recommend. Good times were had by all.
We spent the rest of the weekend watching football, playing with the kiddos, squeezing Cate, going to the Field Museum and eating LOTS of yummy food. Thanks so much for coming to town everyone, we hope to see you again soon!
