One
Our birthday season has come to an end. Cate turned one on October 17th, rounding out the last of the birthdays for our family. This little girl brings so much joy to our family and it has been so fun to watch her grow over the past month. She is now waving, clapping, twinkling her star, blowing kisses and trying to capture the attention of those around her so she can share her new tricks.
Cate is happy and enjoys making us laugh. She will often climb onto something, roll over on her back and look up, waiting for someone to tickle her belly and play with her. She is such a tease. Cate is also extremely friendly and is quick to warm up to strangers. She loves people! Cate is also busy, much busier than Jane. She has already figured out how to pull the toilet paper off the roll, has thrown a few items in the toilet and quickly climbs into the dishwasher if she sees an open door. She is a mover and doesn't like to be held down. When I brush her teeth, change her diaper or get her dressed, I often feel like I am wrestling an alligator. Hopefully all of this effort is helping me work on my upper body strength. :)
Cate is starting to talk and can definitely say mama and dada. She has started to say a few other words as well and is definitely understanding more. She loves music and loves to move her hands and bounce her body when she hears her favorite tunes. Her favorite things are climbing in and out and in and out of her pink car. Climbing stairs, climbing into the dishwasher, reading books, being outside and taking bathes with her sister Jane.
She has just started walking this week and I have a feeling there will be no stopping her once she is up in running. Cate it has been so fun to have an extra reason to celebrate you this week. We love you.
