Marin County Fair

In the first week of July, we made our 2nd annual trip to the Marin County Fair. The girls were very excited about the rides, but were also very interested in playing games. Cate was quick to make a decision and decided on a game where you have to pop balloons with darts. Luckily she chose a game where everyone wins and she took home a stuffed cat (no real cats in this house). Lizzie choose to play a similar game in a different spot and was rewarded with a stuffed fish. Jane scanned the games for quite some time before finally deciding on a spot that had the cute little bear she is holding. She kept giving the lady her money to get more darts, so after paying $20, she could chose any prize she wanted. It was a little painful to watch her spend her money this way but there was no stopping her. A few days after the fair she counted the money in her piggy bank and started to realize that the bear may not have been the best investment. Sometimes experience is the best teacher.

All of he rides were a hit! Our first stop was the fun house, which the girls remembered from last year. They also did the ferris wheel, potato sack races down the long slides, and the swings. Lizzie and I went on the smaller swings, while Jane and Cate rode the big ones. While Lizzie rode the merry-go-round, Trever endured a ride that spun in way too many circles with Jane and Cate. The girls were all smiles in the end and Trever held up pretty nicely as well! All of the girls are fearless when it comes to ride and they love to go fast!

So grateful for these adventurous girls and the memories we made that day! Next year we may even stay late and catch the fireworks show.
