We had a fabulous 4th of July this year! Last year we had just moved into our house and were still getting settled, so our 4th of July was pretty low key. This year our friends invited us to go to the parade just north of where we live, and it was a total hit with the kids. Our friends have 3 boys that match up with our girls, she they had a great time. My mom was able to join us as well, which was an added bonus. Luckily my friend knew exactly where to sit, so the kids gathered plenty of candy and goodies to take home.
Our girls were feeling the holiday spirt and were in red, white and blue from head to toe!
The parade was 2 hours long but well done. We saw all kinds of army vehicles, a crazy man on a unicycle, bag pipers, police officers and much more. Definitely something we will do again next year!
That evening we had a BBQ with a few friends before heading over to see the fireworks. We learned our lesson last year and found a spot much closer to the action. We were up on a hillside and were able to look down on the fair and get a pretty good view of the fireworks show. Definitely a fun day!
