Last but not least, Cate-a-roo turns 6! She is the caboose to our birthday season and was good sport about waiting for her special day. She also requested a crepe breakfast, so of course Trever obliged. After a great day at school (something she looks forward to each day), we had a fun time celebrating at home with our family.
Lizzie and Jane were excited to celebrate with her as well!
Over the past year Cate's smile has transformed as she continues to lose teeth. Shortly after her 6th birthday she lost her 4th tooth at school (Jane pulled it out during recess) and received the coveted tooth necklace. She continues to be a monkey and has even started to do the monkey bars backward. She continues to amaze us/keep us on our toes by climbing to great heights. This girl has no fear!
Cate has started to read independently, which she is very excited about. She loves Ivy + Bean and has even read a few Magic Tree House books. At night time she loves reading Roald Dahl books with mom and dad and has especially enjoyed James and the Giant Peach, George's Magnificent Medicine, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The BFG. She now has her own bookshelf mounted next to her bed and is asking for a reading light so she can read for a bit before falling asleep.
Other exciting facts about Cate:
Crutches are her mode of transportation
She enjoys cured meats of all varieties
She could eat burritos and nachos several times a week
She LOVES eggs
Monkey bars of any kind are her happy place
With the promise of gum, she has stopped sucking her fingers (except at night)
She loves the beach and feels it is her responsibility to "save the seaweed" from going back into the water. She could could jump in waves all day.
