Sunday Best of Christmas Eve

After church on Sunday, we had a relaxing afternoon. We were lucky to have Mimi and Buddie with us this year, and had a great time celebrating together. On Christmas Eve we had a yummy dinner and did our reenactment of the nativity. There was no fight to be Mary, in fact Mimi had to be Mary because no one was willing to play that role. Cate wanted to be the angel and Lizzie was happy to be a shepherd. I can't remember if Jane participated, she may have helped with the narration.

There was quite a bit of excitement leading up to Christmas this year. I think Lizzie expressed the most enthusiasm with her daily questions about when Christmas would arrive. All three girls started their Christmas lists early, cutting out pages from the many catalogs that come to our house. I especially love Jane's note about wanting a real dog (not a fake one). Unfortunately Santa could not deliver a dog this year but he did bring a fish tank. 

She REALLY wanted a robot but Santa didn't have room on his sleigh. Jane was definitely disappointed, but the fish tank was a good runner up. The hard part was waiting an extra day before getting the actual fish. But now we have Norman and life is good!

Cate had a long list of items from the Lakeshore Learning magazine. She received a pet vet set and has enjoyed using it with all of her stuffed animals. 

Cate recently learned to jump rope, so we bought one for her to practice at home. She also got a Fitbit and has been consistently tracking her steps since Christmas. She was quite competitive with Jane at first but that has died down. 

Lizzie's list was mostly pictures and her top items were a volcano set, pretty rocks and a charm bracelet set. She was very excited about the volcano.

I love these girls and are am so grateful for the fun Christmas we had together. The month of December is always busy but the memories we make together are so much fun. I especially enjoy the time we can spend together after Christmas, when the rush is done and list of commitments go away. Looking forward to another great year with this crew!
