Lizzie - 20 months
This little sweetie is 20 months (soon to be 21). This age has been so much fun, I just have to capture all that is happening with Lizzie. Over the past few months she has been talking up a storm and it has been so fun to hear what she has to say. Much to Jane's dismay, she can't really say Jane just yet. She can definitely say Cate and she likes to say it quite loud sometimes. She uses the letter "T" to say "C''s" so Tate = Cate, Poat = Coat, Tone = Cone (ice cream cone) and so forth. She also likes to say, "it's me," which means, "it's mine." She also loves to say Mimi and will repeat it several times whenever Mimi visits. Lizzie will pull out the silverware drawer and say purple. Even though she doesn't know what color spoon or fork is purple, she knows there is something special about this color from listening to her sisters.
She tries to keep up with Jane and Cate and doesn't like to be left out or left behind. She no longer wants to sit in her highchair, she prefers to stand/sit on a big chair with her sisters. She is aware of the type of cup they have and will sometimes refuse her sippy cup because she wants to have one like the big girls. She also loves to play dress up with them and has already participated in several dance performances in our dining room. She is so pleased when Jane and Cate dress her up and include her in their playtime.
Lizzie is definitely not a pushover and is starting to hold her own. She will climb all over her sisters and even sit of their chests and use them as horses if the opportunity presents itself. She doesn't back down from confrontation and will sometimes throw things in anger if she gets frustrated (yikes). She has a pretty good throwing arm and is not afraid to use it.
Right now she loves smoothies, snacks, eggs, milk, cheese, berries of all varieties, bananas and graham crackers. She often asks for things to be whole instead of cut because I think it makes her feel older. :) She is still a good eater, although she may be losing her belly, just a little bit.
Lizzie loves to play outside and can often be found jumping on the trampoline. She climbs stairs with ease (thanks to our two story house) and loves to go down slides. She tries to mimic her sisters on the playground and is willing to try just about anything. Sand is also a favorite and something she could play with for hours. She is really getting into babies and she enjoys holding them, wrapping them up, pushing them in strollers and comforting while saying, "shhh, shhh, shhh," She loves to read books, although she has strong opinions about which books should be read. If you pick one she does not care to read, she will grab it and toss it back into the basket. This little goose has also started hiding under her bed and thinks it's hilarious!
We love this sweet, feisty, silly little girl. Lizzie, thank you for making our days so fun!
