Halloween

you take what you can get when you are capturing a group picture

It was a full day of fun for us. It rained quite a bit this morning which wasn't too fun but at least it wasn't freezing and windy like Chicago. Jane had to be to school by 8 am this morning because they combined the pre-K classes. When she starts kindergarten, our lives are going to change. Getting everyone ready and somewhat presentable by 7:45 am is no small feat. Another reminder to enjoy each phase for what it has to offer. Her school had a parade in the morning and then she had a class party, which she loved. We spent the rest of the afternoon at home, hanging out, crafting a bit and taking pictures of the girls in their costumes. This evening we went to a pizza party in our neighborhood and then Trever took the big girls trick or treating. They got enough candy to be happy but not too much to tempt us all for the next month.

And now for the costumes. Jane was Elsa from the movie Frozen. She locked in this decision quite early this year and stood firm in her choice. Luckily Nana picked up an Elsa costume at Costco in July so that she could have the official costume. Jane told me the costume needed to be official, so  luckily Nana pulled through.

Cate wanted to wear her cupcake costume AGAIN, so of course I didn't argue. We pulled it out in September just to make sure she was serious and she was. She wore it for the entire afternoon and it was quite warm out. She stayed firm in her choice as well, so this was an easy one for us.

This one is out of focus but I LOVE her face. Such a Cate laugh!

Lizzie didn't have much to say about her costume but she seemed to be happy with the duck. She has a duck as her love, so it seemed to fit. I love seeing her cute face but I also love watching her waddle with the full duck bum from the back. Too cute!

And she's off! Love Cate's face in this picture, she was right behind Lizzie.
