Young artist

Jane has been really into drawing lately. There isn't a day that goes by that she isn't on the floor with her pens and paper. The pieces that you see above are quite modern and a little muted. Her current work is a little more colorful and even more lovely. Jane also enjoys displaying her work on our playroom wall. It started with a few small pieces of tape. She then started wasting using large amounts of tape to make sure they are secure. At first I cringed when she would pull out long strands of tape, wasting most of it, while getting frustrated because it was sticking to her hands or the desk. And then, I took a deep breathe, realized that tape costs about $1.50-$2.00 per roll and now let her use as much tape as her heart desires. She now knows how to keep it from getting too sticky and hard to manage and is so happy when she can display her masterpieces on our wall. We are happy too.

Cate is also enjoying the markers and has colored a few of her outfits. We also have a few crayon marks on the walls that just don't seem to come out. But, she is having a good time coloring with her sister. As long as the markers are accounted for and we are supervising the coloring, good times are had by all.
