Julie + Vlad come to town
We were lucky to have my sister and brother-in-law in town for the weekend. Vlad had to renew his Czech passport, which gave them the perfect reason to come stay with us. We spent Friday afternoon touring the Baha'i Temple, which is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are lovely and Jane especially enjoyed the fountains. She was dipping her little fingers in every fountain until security came by and told us to stop. Something about the water not being clean, oops! Here she is practically diving into the water.
Although she hadn't been feeling well for most of Thursday and Friday, she enjoyed running around and getting some fresh air.
Beautiful Temple
After leaving the temple grounds, we made our way to the beach to soak up some sun and play in the sand. I LOVE the fact that we are so close to the beach. The summer weather is definitely here and we have been taking full advantage.
We spent most of Saturday indoors because it was so hot and humid. At one point my brother-in-law was watching Say Yes to the Dress (sorry to call you out Vlad). I was feeling bad that we weren't doing anything but no one wanted to go outside. We did walk to the farmers market in the morning and had dinner in Chicago, so we weren't totally lame. Julie took a few pictures as we walked to get ice cream. You have to love this picture of Trever, Vlad and Jane. Vlad isn't really one for pictures if you can't tell. He is however extremely good with Jane and was so cute with her. This guy is a softy. :)
Jane loved the walk and made sure to bend down and point to all of the construction paint on the sidewalk. She doesn't have her colors down just yet, so she would just point to the paint, call out a random color and pause for a few seconds. This was quite funny the first few times but there is a lot of paint on the sidewalk and she stopped quite a few times. Gotta love this girl.
The walk to the ice cream parlor was a little further than we thought but still walkable. It was fun to checkout the Lakeview neighborhood and enjoy an evening outdoors. Jane was a huge fan of Trever's chocolate milkshake and made sure to get her fair share.
Thanks Julie and Vlad for a great visit. We promise when you come back we will give you a comfy mattress to lay on. Trever put an earnest effort into patching up our Aerobed but ultimately Julie and Vlad ending up laying on the floor on an empty mattress. Thanks for being our guinea pigs, sorry you lost some sleep.
