Nana and Papa come to town

The only people that will consider visiting us in January are the grandparents. Nana and Papa are freezing in Michigan, so spending the weekend in Chicago doesn't sound too bad when you get to visit family. We had a great weekend together and were so glad they came to town.

We spent most of Saturday indoors but decided to venture out in the afternoon. We took them to Lighthouse Beach, which is a huge hit in the summer but not as enticing in the winter. We walked across the icy beach and braved the weather for all of 10 minutes before hopping back in the car. Even thought it was freezing, I still thought it was beautiful. Here are a few pictures:

Love this picture of my mom, what a beauty!
Attempt at a group photo, believe it or not, this is the best one.
Icy lakefront
HUGE icicles.
Back inside in a warm bubble bath.
Jane pulling clothes in and out of her drawer. She did this for about 15 minutes and thought it was hilarious. She is getting to be a busy girl.
Reading her favorite story, Wheels on the Bus, with Nana.
Fun note from Nana and Papa. My grandma Connie used to write me letters like this when I was little and I LOVED them!
Thanks for coming to town Nana and Papa, hope to see you again soon.

That's one of my favorite parts about Evanston in the winter...the frozen beach terrain. It makes for fantastic photos...though nothing tops the bubble pic.
