We celebrated Thanksgiving at my mom's house this year and had a fabulous time. We spent most of the afternoon cooking but it was well worth it. Trever and I didn't cook the turkey, but we did cook butternut squash soup, Grandma Maybe's stuffing and pumpkin cheese cake. The soup turned out great and made me remember how much I love squash. The stuffing was more like bread pudding but the flavor was still great. Despite my conversation with Trever's mom about how much chicken stock to add, we added too much. We learned our lesson and hopefully we will do better the next time around. The cheesecake was a hit and some people even came back for seconds. :) When I asked Trever how excited he was to try the cheesecake on a scale from 1 to 1o, he said a 7. When I asked him again after he tasted the cheesecake he gave a new rating of 9, not bad! Here are a few pictures from the day.

Pumpkin cheesecake ready to eat

Today we went to the mall and managed to brave the crowds. We thought we were going to take a quick trip to Macy's but we ended up spending 3+ hours shopping. We even stopped at IKEA on the way home if you can believe it. We now have new curtains, a duvet and way too many pillows for our bedroom. We will post pictures once everything is in place.

On a more serious note, we are grateful for our family, friends and all of the many blessings we have in our lives. We look forward to spending time with you during the holidays. We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!
