Easter

Our girls were very excited for Easter this year. In the days leading up to Easter, they took turns hiding our plastic eggs around the house and could often be found wearing bunny ears. We don't really make a big deal about the Easter Bunny around our house but Jane definitely wanted to play along. She had lots of questions about when he/she would come, how they would get in, etc...

Here is Cate getting ready to go to her Easter egg hunt at church. The Saturday before Easter they had an egg hunt for the nursery kiddos. She was very egg-cited!

The Easter dying went pretty well this year. We had a lot of cracked eggs, but the girls got the hang of the dying and had a great time creating colorful eggs.

They were all smiles when the saw that the Easter Bunny visited our house while they were sleeping. I thought about putting different things in each of their baskets but right now it's good to keep things equal. Cate may have broken Jane's wand a few days ago, but such is life with siblings.

I turned my head for one second and when I turned back, Cate was eating her chocolate carrot. I started to tell her that she needed to wait until after breakfast and then quickly realized it was a lost cause. It's Easter, right?

I was trying to capture a picture of the girls after church but wasn't having much luck. A friend of mine pulled over and ran to take our picture. Not bad for an impromptu picture.

That evening we hosted an Easter dinner and invited a few friends. Here are the kids enjoying their sugar cookies after dinner. They mostly liked licking the frosting and dumping the sprinkles. My friend Kristen made a delicious carrot cake for the big kids. We decided to eat dessert outside because it was such a beautiful day.

The egg hunt was a big success.
