Lately

The past three months have flown by! I sometimes think life is slowing down, but have come to realize that life is busy and will be for many years to come. It brings me so much joy to watch my girls learn new skills, and witness their joy as they approach new milestones. 

Lizzie started primary at the beginning of the year and is proud to be a Sunbeam. She was ready to move on from nursery and is thrilled to spend the 2nd hour of church with her sisters (and the other big kids). We are so grateful she has such a good teacher and that she is enjoying her Sunday church experience.

Back in January Cate lost her first and the second one was quick to follow. She has now had two visits from the tooth fairy and is definitely looking much older.

All of the girls are taking gymnastics and loving it. Jane has declared that she wants to be a gymnast when she grows up. Lizzie has been taking a morning class with a friends, which she calls "her little girlfriends." Lizzie wows us with her bar skills, fearless attitude and amazing trampoline jumps. I am pretty sure Grandma and Grandpa's trampoline sessions have given her extra confidence. 

Cate has been keeping us on her toes and never ceases to amaze me with the heights she conquers. In the picture below she had many people wondering who was watching/taking care of her. Last week in gymnastics she climbed to the top of the rope and then proceeded to grab the overhead pipes and let go of the rope. Her teacher announced that she was going to give him a heart attack and that she needed to come down. The great dance of being Cate's mom is letting her explore, while keeping her safe. So far, so good!

We have had plenty of rain this year, which means lots of puddles and mud for splashing. The girls have enjoying sloshing through the mud on the way to school. Jane has been quite fearful of the worms and let out a BIG scream when she almost stepped on one a few weeks ago. She has decided that she would throw up if she stepped on one. Oh my!

Both Jane and Cate participated in the Science Fair in March. Jane figured out how to clean a pennies and Cate displayed her sea glass collection. I am proud of both girls for participating in this activity. I think Jane is already thinking about what she may do for next year. 

Lizzie helped put her pedals back on her big girl bike. She was a little wobbly at first ,but is getting the hang of riding a two-wheeler. The best part was seeing the smile on her face. Trever took several videos and also captured Jane and Cate cheering her on. Go Lizzie go!

Jane and Cate participated in their school Walk-A-Thon to raise money for school programs and activities. The activity was held on St. Patrick's Day, which made it extra fun. The girls had Lucky Charms for breakfast, which seemed like the perfect power food for the event. Both girls walked 15 laps and did a great job. So grateful I could be there to capture pictures and cheer them on.

And that's a wrap for now! I am so grateful for these girls and am so proud of all they have accomplished the past few months. Can't wait to see what spring and summer will bring!
