Halloween

We had so much fun with Halloween this year! It was also busy and exhausting, but definitely worth it. Just look at these faces!

We carved and decorated our pumpkins the night before Halloween. I am convinced that this is a tradition I want to continue. It's so fun to see what the girls create. This year Jane was into all things spooky, so she wanted to create a scary jack-o-lantern. Cate's pumpkin was a combo of carving and stickers and she made a pirate. She wasn't so sure about the mess of the carving at first, but she got into it. Lizzie enjoyed the decorating but her attention span is still pretty short. She decided to decorate her pumpkin as a witch and she loved it!

Jane was very confident in her costume choice this year and stuck with it for quite a few months. She had a friend dress as a vampire last year and I think she liked the idea of dressing spooky and wearing make-up. Cate and Lizzie dressed up as two of their favorite cartoon characters, Shimmer + Shine. They also loved wearing make up and dressing up in sparkly costumes. Luckily we had a trial run with their make-up for the Fall Festival at school because I was flying solo on Halloween Day and we had to get everyone to school on time. It was a little crazy but we made it!

Jane and Cate's school had a parade in the morning, so Lizzie and I were able to watch. I was able to go to Cate's class party but had to miss Jane's.

Lizzie's preschool had a party and did some trick-o-treating at the fire station. She loved having her own thing and taking part in all of the fun.

Last but not least, Grandma and Great Grandma Sharp came up for dinner. They were also on candy duty while we went trick-o-treating, but our doorbell only rang two times. We now know that everyone goes trick-o-treating in one specific neighborhood and will buy much less candy next year. 

It was a very wet night for trick-o-treating this year but the girls had a blast. They were soaked by the end of the night but it didn't seem to phase them. You have to love their energy and enthusiasm, it makes it all worth it. Until next year!
