Winter escape

In the middle of February we took a much needed trip to California to thaw out and visit family. It has taken me several weeks to actually post because our life has been moving in fast forward. We bought our first house and closed on it the day before our trip. So while it's exciting to plan for our new space, it has also been quite hectic. Our weeks have been filled with lots of decisions, many trips to Home Depot and many late nights and early mornings (thanks to our 3 kiddos). But back to our trip.

We landed in San Francisco on a Saturday and my mom picked us up. We flew United airlines this time so that we could use Trever's miles. The downside of flying with United is that our little family definitely stood out. You don't see many young families traveling on United, so there were some points (going through security, getting on and off the plane) that we definitely stood out. When you fly Southwest, you are along for the ride with all of the other crazy people flying with their kiddos. Our girls actually did very well and stayed occupied with snacks, shows and various other activities in their back packs. Lizzie also traveled well and was able to fall asleep in the Ergo for her naps.

The girls loved being outside and took every opportunity to run around with their shoes off. It was so nice to leave the house without bundling everyone. 

Our attempt at a family shot. We spent an afternoon in San Francisco with one of Trever's old co-workers. They have an amazing house and you see the Golden Gate Bridge (to the left of Trever's shoulder) from their rooftop. Beautiful! The family was so gracious to feed us brunch and play with our girls, we had a great time.
